The American magazine in its report has blamed Facebook officials for the Modi government’s bias and obstruction of operations against the hateful post of India’s ruling party leaders.

A report published in the Wall Street Journal says that Ankhi Das, Facebook’s top policy maker in India, has taken action against Bharatiya Janata Party leader T Raja Singh’s hateful post for maintaining good company relations with the ruling party. Not allowed

It is to be noted that T Raja Singh, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, is a member of the Assembly of the Indian state of Telangana and is known for his hate speeches against Muslims and other Indian minorities and provocations on social media. It has been constantly posting provocations against Muslims, demolishing mosques and inciting violence against Rohingya.


The report revealed that the authorities monitoring the hateful content on Facebook had suggested a permanent ban on Raja Singh’s posts in view of the provocations, but Ankhi Das used his influence to block it. No action was taken against him. The report quoted current and former Facebook employees as saying that Ankhi Das had initiated action against at least three other BJP-linked individuals whose motive was to appease the ruling party.

The American magazine has quoted Facebook employees as saying that there is bias for Modi and his political party on social media platforms.

A Facebook spokesperson said that Ankhi Das had raised some policy issues but there were other reasons why T Raja Singh was not banned and he has been categorized as a “dangerous” person. In addition, it does not have the facility of a verified account. The company is still considering banning Raja Singh.

The magazine says that Faiz Ankhi Das, a senior policy maker on Facebook, is leaning towards the BJP and in 2017 wrote an article praising Modi.

It should be noted that in the past too, Facebook has been criticized for adopting double standards regarding Israel and in recent years, users have been complaining about the issues raised by the Facebook platform on Kashmir.
